The second round of mass testing will start on January 15 and will include the possibility of “free testing”, which has been criticized by the opposition. The background to this is the government’s plan that the lockdown with the hard measures currently in force should expire on January 24 – but already on January 18 for all those who avail of the free testing. Registration and dates for the antigen tests in all provinces can be found on the online portal “Österreich Testet”.
To the offer on the part of the Ministry of Health also the free call number for inquiries belongs, which can be used likewise starting from 4 January for date agreements. The persons tested with the mass test can enter with a negative result already on 18 January again trade, catering trade and hotels. No negative test should wait until 24 January. People who have had a Corona disease in the past three months are also exempted from the exit restrictions.
